Comments about Peavey MAX 110 II 1x10 100W Bass Combo Amp :

I convinced myself to stick with Peavey over jumping the shark into Behringer territory, but now I'm not so sure that was a good idea. The amp sounds like my previous Peavey combo amps, and it fills the room with true-to-life tones without distorting the color at all. It's the perfect size and volume for practice and maybe a reasonable volume rehearsal without drums. But it ain't 100W. I imagine that it's about as loud as the previous version of the MAX 110, which was only rated at about 20W RMS(depending on who you ask). That 100W figure means nothing; I would be surprised if it could even put 50W of peak power to the 4-ohm speaker. I'm also not fond of the ugly white chicken-head knobs. They're harder to see from a distance and know where you're set at. I suppose it would be a lot easier to see if the control panel wasn't facing the ceiling. Why amp manufacturers do this I'll never know. I thought they were on to something when the started mounting the panels at an angle. Speaking of angles, that control panel becomes pretty much impossible to see at all, even from a chair right in front of the amp, if you've got it kicked back. Again, I miss having an angled panel, like my old TNT 115. Ultimately, it's not a bad amp, and it might be worth the price if you don't need to tweak the preamp sound a lot. I just think the styling and marketing departments need to take a lesson from history and look at the old Basic series.

Perfect Amp For Home & Small Gigs

Comments about Peavey MAX 110 II 1x10 100W Bass Combo Amp :

I have owned Peavey in the past and even owned a couple of tube amps from Peavey. When I got to the Guitar Center in Little Rock, Arkansas I had a pretty good idea that a Peavey was going to be my choice. The Salesman took me straight to the Peavey Max 110 I got my Fender Bass out and plugged it in and right away I knew this was the amp! Quality, Features, Sound, Price Point it had what I wanted. As for power hey 100 watts gets my wifes attention and the neighbors as well. I would say if I were into Big Gigs I would get a bigger amp but I would stay with Peavey. And as for the Guitar Center In Little Rock, Arkansas I am hooked on them it was my first visit not my last. Awesome service, super staff that knows the product and I like being able to try it before you buy it. Buy this amp I think you will be happy! Kenneth Jones
